Frieze London and Art Basel Paris: the autumn art season, October 2026
Two of the art world’s key fairs take place within ten days of each other: Frieze in The Regent’s Park and Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais.

October is the busiest month of the European art calendar. Frieze London and Frieze Masters open in The Regent’s Park from 14 to 18 October 2026, with almost 300 galleries from 48 countries and regions across the two fairs. Frieze London focuses on contemporary art and living artists; Frieze Masters spans historical art, from antiquity to the 20th century.
Then Paris
A week later, Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais from 23 to 25 October 2026, with preview days on 21 and 22 October. Its fifth edition brings together more than 200 galleries from 41 countries and territories and is the first under director Karim Crippa.
Planning both
Many collectors attend both fairs, travelling between London and Paris by Eurostar or private aviation. London’s auction houses and Paris gallery openings add to the programme, so evenings book up quickly in both cities.
