F1 2027 calendar: a first sprint in Monaco and a return to Istanbul
Formula 1’s 2027 season brings Monaco’s first-ever sprint weekend, the Turkish Grand Prix back in Istanbul and an Abu Dhabi finale in December.

Formula 1 has published its 2027 calendar: 24 Grands Prix and, for the first time, ten sprint weekends. The most talked-about change is in the Principality. Monaco will stage a sprint race for the first time, which means two races and two qualifying sessions on its famously tight streets.
Monaco moves to June
As in 2026, the Monaco Grand Prix sits in early June rather than its traditional late-May slot, on 4–6 June 2027. Monaco race week is one of the most sought-after weeks on the Riviera: harbour-side terraces, yachts in Port Hercule and the hotels of Monte Carlo are typically committed many months ahead, and road closures make transfers a matter of careful timing. Helicopter connections from Nice are a popular way to arrive.
Istanbul returns
The Turkish Grand Prix returns to Istanbul Park on 3 October 2027, for the first time since 2021. It forms part of an autumn run of races and is likely to draw visitors who combine the race with time on the Bosphorus and in the city’s historic quarters.
A December finale in Abu Dhabi
The season closes at Yas Marina Circuit on 12 December 2027, continuing Abu Dhabi’s tradition of hosting the final round. The opening Gulf rounds in March remain subject to regional developments, so flexible travel planning is sensible.
