There is no race like it. For one weekend in June, the Principality turns its harbour, its hairpin and its tunnel into the slowest, tightest and most glamorous circuit in Formula 1. In 2027, Monaco adds something new: for the first time, the Grand Prix is a sprint weekend.
What is new in 2027
The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix takes place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June, as round 8 of the 24-race season. Under the sprint format, Friday brings practice and sprint qualifying, Saturday the sprint race and qualifying for the Grand Prix, and Sunday the race itself. That means competitive running on every day of the weekend, and fewer quiet hours on the Friday that some regulars used for a long lunch.
The race keeps its date at the start of June, after the Cannes Film Festival in May. For many of our clients, the two make a natural Riviera fortnight.
Where to stay
Every option has a trade-off between view, access and calm:
- In Monaco, on the circuit. The palace hotels around Casino Square and the harbour put you in the heart of it. Rooms and apartments with a view are usually committed a year ahead and often sold with minimum stays.
- In Monaco, off the circuit. Larvotto and Fontvieille are quieter, with easier access when the roads close.
- Along the coast. Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu, Èze and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin offer villas and grand hotels within a short drive or boat ride, and a peaceful evening after the crowds.
- On the water. A yacht in Port Hercule is the ultimate front-row seat; one moored offshore or in a nearby port is quieter and simpler to arrange.
Where to watch
Options range from grandstands to private terraces and balconies above the track, hotel hospitality, and yachts in the harbour. All are sold through the Automobile Club de Monaco, the official Formula 1 hospitality programme or authorised resellers. We do not sell tickets: we help you understand the options, check that a seller is authorised, and plan the weekend around your choice.
A tip from experience: for a family or a mixed group, a terrace with shade, seating and its own catering is often more comfortable than the best grandstand seat.
Getting there and around
Most guests arrive through Nice Côte d’Azur, which has a busy business aviation terminal during race week. From Nice, the road takes about 30–40 minutes on a normal day and much longer during the weekend; the helicopter to the Monaco Heliport takes a few minutes, weather permitting.
Inside Monaco, the circuit divides the town and many roads close during sessions. Walking, the public lifts and the boat across the harbour often beat the car. We plan drivers, drop-off points and timings around the published road closures.
When to plan
Earlier than almost anything else on the calendar. Rooms with a view, terraces and harbour berths for 2027 are already being discussed. Restaurants around the Casino and the port take reservations for race weekend weeks, sometimes months, in advance. If you are considering Monaco in June, we suggest starting the conversation before the end of 2026.
