When to visit Dubai
Why most visitors come between October and April, and what the rest of the year offers.
Dubai is a year-round destination, but the climate shapes the experience more than almost anything else. Choosing the right months changes what is comfortable to do outdoors.
October to April: the season
The cooler months are peak season. Beach days, desert evenings, outdoor dining and time on the water are all at their most comfortable. The city’s social and events calendar is concentrated in these months, and the best hotels and restaurants are at their busiest, so earlier planning pays off.
Events in and around the season
The Dubai Shopping Festival runs over the winter, and Art Dubai takes place in the spring. Just along the coast, the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina closes the Formula 1 season in late November or December.
May to September: the hot months
Summer is very hot and humid, so days shift indoors and to early mornings and evenings. The advantages are quieter hotels and often strong value at top properties, which suits a relaxed resort stay or a short city break.
Getting around
Most visitors arrive at Dubai International (DXB), and some flights and private aircraft use Dubai World Central (DWC). A car and driver is the easiest way to move between the city, the beach and the desert, especially with a busy schedule.
