- Who you pay, whether there are commissions or mark-ups, and what “included” really means
Few luxury services are as hard to price from the outside as a private concierge. Some publish nothing at all; some advertise “free” assistance; others charge more for a year than a small car costs. Here is how the money really works, and the questions that tell you what you will actually pay.
The three pricing models
Almost every concierge, from a global lifestyle brand to a single personal assistant, uses one of three models, or a mix of them.
1. Membership. You pay a monthly or annual fee for access to a team, usually with a named lifestyle manager. Requests within reason are included; supplier costs are not. This is the most common model for established services, and the most predictable for you.
2. Pay per request or project. No subscription: each piece of work is quoted separately, often as a fixed fee or an hourly rate. It suits occasional needs, but costs rise quickly if you ask for help often, and urgent requests are usually priced at a premium.
3. Commission-funded. The service appears free, or very cheap, because it is paid by the hotels, restaurants and operators it books. The catch is that you cannot easily tell whether a recommendation is the best one for you, or the best paid. Credit-card concierge desks often work this way.
What memberships cost
Published prices are rare, but the ranges are well reported. According to The Sybarite’s 2026 review of London concierge companies, established membership services start at around £7,000 a year, with several leading houses around £37,000 to £40,000, and the most exclusive tiers reported at up to around £150,000. At the other end, entry-level and app-based services start from under £10 a month, with many around £50 to £100.
The difference is not only service level. Higher tiers usually buy a dedicated, named manager, faster priority access and a smaller ratio of members to staff. Lower tiers are typically handled by a shared team, often working from scripts.
Costs to ask about
The membership fee is the visible part. Before you join any service, ask these five questions in writing:
- Who do I pay for hotels and suppliers? If the concierge collects the money, ask whether the price includes a mark-up.
- Do you receive commissions? Commissions are normal in travel; what matters is that they are disclosed.
- What is excluded? Flights, events, “complex” requests and out-of-hours work are common exceptions.
- Are there booking or card fees? Some services add a percentage for paying on your behalf.
- How do I leave? Check the notice period and whether annual fees are refundable.
How ATLAS MAISON prices its service
We chose the simplest model we could defend line by line, and we publish it on our membership page:
- Monthly membership: €999 a month, cancel any time, with a 5% service charge on services booked through us.
- Annual membership: €9,999 a year (equivalent to €833.25 a month), with a reduced 3% service charge.
- 3-day trial: €99 once, for up to two standard requests. It does not renew.
- Flights are excluded from the service charge.
You book and pay every supplier directly, in your own name, so there is no hidden mark-up: the hotel’s price is the price. On a €4,000 villa week, for example, the service charge is €200 for a monthly member or €120 for an annual member, invoiced only once the booking is confirmed. If a supplier ever pays us a commission, we say so in the proposal.
Business matters, such as company formation, relocation or property, are handled through licensed professionals whose fees are agreed after an initial consultation. See our business concierge.
Is a concierge worth it?
A simple test: add up the hours you or your assistant spent last year researching, booking and rebooking travel, restaurants and events. If that time is worth more to you than the membership, and if you travel several times a year, a concierge usually pays for itself in time alone, before any access or savings.
If your needs are occasional, start small. A short trial, or a single project, will tell you more about a service than any brochure. Read more in Who needs a private concierge? and Concierge or travel agent?
Third-party prices are as reported by the source linked above in 2026 and may change. ATLAS MAISON prices are correct at the time of publication; the membership page is always the reference.
Concierge fees explained: questions
How much does a private concierge cost per year?
Established London membership services are reported at around £7,000 to £40,000 a year, with top tiers reported up to around £150,000. ATLAS MAISON costs €9,999 a year, or €999 a month, plus a 3% or 5% service charge on services booked through us.
Are there free concierge services?
Yes, but they are usually funded by commissions from the suppliers they book, or bundled with a credit card. Ask how the service is paid for before relying on its recommendations.
Does the membership fee include hotels and flights?
No. With almost every concierge, supplier costs are paid separately. At ATLAS MAISON, you pay suppliers directly and flights are excluded from our service charge.
What is a concierge service charge?
A percentage on the services arranged for you, in our case 5% for monthly members and 3% for annual members, invoiced once a booking is confirmed.
Can I try a concierge before committing?
At ATLAS MAISON, yes: a 3-day trial costs €99, covers up to two standard requests and does not renew.
